The original Nixmap pages, articles, exercises, rendered diagrams, and illustrations are © Yurii M., licensed CC BY-SA 4.0: share and adapt them, keep the credit, keep the license. That grant does not cover the website's source code or the third-party assets below.

The website itself

The source code of this website is © Yurii M., all rights reserved. It is not published, except for the files below that are ports of Firefox, whose source is published under the MPL 2.0.

Software this site ships

• Solid inside Astro, with Vite's module preload helper, marked (MIT, with a BSD notice for John Gruber's Markdown), and three.js on the certificate page. MIT. Their notices are in the bundled JavaScript licenses and Astro's license.
• The tree-sitter runtime and four grammars compiled to WebAssembly, one each for Nix, Bash, JSON and YAML, built from the grammars packaged in nixpkgs. MIT.
• Highlight and injection queries from nvim-treesitter, with their comments removed. Apache 2.0.
• A recoloured copy of the Gruvbox dark theme from giscus, which loads the comments on the articles, itself modified from Pavel Pertsev's Gruvbox. Both MIT: giscus's license; Gruvbox states MIT/X11 in its README.
• The simulated Node.js project contains picocolors, © Oleksii Raspopov, Kostiantyn Denysov and Anton Verinov, ISC.

Nix material this site ships

• 56 files of nixpkgs lib, with their comments removed. MIT, © Eelco Dolstra and the Nixpkgs/NixOS contributors.
• Option names, types, defaults and descriptions from nixpkgs and Home Manager. Both MIT (nixpkgs, Home Manager), pinned to the revisions in nixpkgs-meta.json.
• systemd directive descriptions from the systemd 260.4 manual pages. LGPL-2.1-or-later.

NixOS artwork

• NixOS snowflake. “NixOS Logo” by Simon Frankau, Tim Cuthbertson, and Daniel Baker, from nixos-artwork, CC BY 4.0. The desktop and login scenes use it unchanged. The installer window, Nixmap and the simulation widgets show modified versions of the same logo by Yurii M., under the same terms and not endorsed by the NixOS project.
• NixOS simple blue wallpaper by Eric Sagnes, CC0 1.0, the original file unchanged.
• NixOS installer GRUB theme by samueldr, CC BY-SA 4.0, with icons from or adapted from KDE's Breeze icons under the LGPL, source.

The ten frames that pat the helmet come from the PetPet Generator, by way of pet-pet-gif, © 2021 camprevail, which distributes them under the MIT licence. This site ships the frames converted to WebP.

Every font below is cut down to the characters used here and carries its copyright and license in its own metadata. Names

The GNOME, Calamares, GRUB, Firefox and GitHub interfaces here are code-native recreations. The only screenshots this site ships are the ten desktop pictures in the NixOS installer, and it ships no GNOME logo. GNOME® is a registered trademark of the GNOME Foundation. Nix, NixOS, GNOME, Calamares, GRUB, and their marks belong to their respective projects. They identify the software being taught; this site is not affiliated with or endorsed by those projects.
